Mary Arnold:  artist, teacher, and mother.

Picture
I am currently an art coordinator in the public school system.  I also teach an art class for educators at Indiana University Southeast.  I graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting and a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  I obtained a Master’s degree in Education from Indiana University Southeast in the summer of 2010.  Over the past 8 years, I’ve taught pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

Why the vision of Creative Kids?  As a mom, I began looking for enriching activities for my children to participate in.  I noticed that there were very few activities, if any at all, for children under the age of 3 or 4 dealing with fine arts.  Having worked with children 4 years old and up, I noticed a great need for more activities that engage fine motor skills for toddlers.  Children today have a very hard time tying their shoes, holding a pencil, and cutting with scissors.  My vision for Creative Kids is to help bridge the gap students have with their fine motor skills in a fun and creative way.

I also have a passion to help children become critical creative thinkers.  I believe children need a quality fine arts program to help them use their brain to the fullest potential.  I am confident that I can unleash your child’s inner artist and fill  your life and your walls with color and creativity.
